Job Summary

Reporting to the Group Head of Sustainability, our Sustainability and Social Impact Manager will contribute to develop and implement the Italgas Group sustainability strategy and reporting practice, with also a focus on social impacts and human rights. She/he will support the Group in the delivery of sustainability projects across its Companies, departments and areas of operation, coordinating activities at corporate and local level in line with Italgas Sustainable Value Creation Plan and in compliance with national/international standards and best practices. She/he will support the process of integration of al sustainability topics across all areas of the business, also including the Group’s supply chain, and of identification, monitoring and reporting of the impacts of the Group (including social and human rights impacts). She/he will also support the development of the Annual Integrated Report, improving/reviewing reliable and auditable processes and systems related to cross-function non-financial data collection and will contribute to plan and implement the identified projects and will monitor the evolution of international standards and best practices regarding ESG topics.

Job Description

Your responsibilities will include:

•    Monitoring evolving trends (best practices, initiatives, impact evaluation models, standards and KPI) and assesses potential impact on / suitability for the Group and its value chain
•    Identifying and evaluating new opportunities to follow sustainability best practices
•    Contributing to the achievement of the targets of Italgas’ Sustainable Value Creation Plan
•    Monitoring and facilitating specific activities and projects across the environmental and social dimension both at the central and at the local level, maximizing social value of internal/external initiatives
•    Non-financial reporting data collection, disclosure and monitoring of regulatory and corporate trends
•    Serving as a key internal interface with Group Companies and other Functions (e.g. Investor Relations, Strategy, HSE, Operation, Procurement, Compliance, ERM..)
•    Driving enhanced performance of Italgas in key indices, Dow Jones Sustainability Index, CDP Climate Change, FTS4Good, ISS and more, overseeing data collection and presenting key findings and opportunities for improvement
•    Supporting the external assurance process of non-financial reporting, identifying improvements and ensuring corporate reporting is accurate, in line with legislative requirements and best practices
•    Monthly monitoring sustainability KPIs and reporting performance to senior management 
•    Assisting and contributing to the implementation of social programs, including a structured involvement of the supply chain
•    Understanding the regulatory landscape on social issues and human rights, at international level.
•    Interacting with stakeholders, both internally (Group’s departments and legal entities) and externally (NGOs, International organizations, Project developers), to contribute to the progressive embedding of social topics and related impacts across all business areas and territories
•    Developing guiding principles, policies and initiatives on social issues, including human rights
•    Liaises with external stakeholders in contributing to the implementation of joint sustainability projects
•    Analysis of the social impacts of Group activities, including not only operations, but also sponsorships and donations

Competenze Tecniche

Minimum Requirements:

•    Master degree or equivalent education in Environmental Engineering, Social Science, Management, Renewable Energy, Sustainability
•    Minumum 7-8 years of experience in sustainability, climate change and social issues on a corporate level, or in a consulting company
•    Knowledge and/or experience of industry is a strong asset, or relevant experience/knowledge in other highly regulated industries/sectors
•    A thorough understanding of the sustainability reporting landscape, prior direct responsibility for managing sustainability topics within the organization
•    Significant experience in non-financial reporting with direct experience developing Corporate Reporting and ESG reporting programs consistent with ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) global reporting standards
•    Significant experience in sustainability impacts evaluation, and ESG Due Diligence
•    Working knowledge in stakeholder engagement, materiality analysis, benchmarking and business case development
•    Deep technical expertise and a demonstrated understanding of best-practice Corporate Reporting programs. Extensive experience in global standards related to socially responsible/ESG reporting
•    Good knowledge in circular economy amongst other sustainable concepts such as cradle to cradle, etc
•    Solid knowledge in social issues and human rights and in sustainability within a corporate environment and experience in structuring and implementing projects in the social impact area including human rights
•    Very strong data management and analytical skills and experience with reporting tools
•    Excellent project management and organisational skills, delivering high quality work on time and to budget; knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling projects
•    Understands the views of others, anticipating, listening and addressing any concerns
•    A team player, who can work in collaboration and is enthusiastic and supportive
•    Ability to communicate assertively with internal stakeholders in writing and in person and a range of external contacts
•    Fluency in English
